Disqus/Community Board Rules and Guidelines

Boards are moderated, reporting abuse is encouraged, & Outraged & Rising has the final say.
My website, my rules, but I am very fair and open-minded!

The following are not allowed on Outraged & Rising Community Boards (similar rules as Disqus with website-specific extras):

• Targeted harassment or encouraging others to do so
• Spam
• Impersonation
• Direct threat of harm
• Posting personally identifiable information
• Inappropriate profile content

Targeted harassment or encouraging others to do so
The targeted and systematic harassment of people has no place on Disqus, nor do we tolerate communities dedicated to fostering harassing behavior.

Spam
I want to encourage Outraged & Rising visitors to interact with each other. Share your business info. Post about an event. Upload some pix. However, do not abuse the system! Posting is free. That does not mean we need spam, which will be moderated and deleted.

Examples include 1) comments posted in large quantities to promote a product or service, 2) the exact same comment posted repeatedly to disrupt a thread, and/or 3) following users multiple times.
Possible exceptions: business or event information of interest to like-minded Community members (eg., event reminder posted once a week or a new business recommendation.) Moderators will have final say on the appropriateness of any post.

Impersonation
You may not impersonate others in a manner that does or is intended to mislead, confuse, or deceive others.

Direct threat of harm
This covers active threats of harm directed towards a specific person or defined group of individuals. Contact local authorities if you feel a crime has been committed or is imminent.

Posting personally identifiable information
Examples of protected information: credit card number, home/work address, phone number, email address, social security number. Real name isn't currently covered.
Do not dox people!

Inappropriate profile content
Graphic media containing violence and pornographic content are not allowed. Profile content allowed by Disqus may not be allowed on all communitie, so report such profiles to the site moderator.
